Our culture encourages creativity, welcomes fresh thinking, and focuses on growth, so our people, our business, and our customers can achieve their full potential.

We are seeking an experienced and highly technical Senior Technical Author to join the documentation team supporting Rapidminer SLC, part of the Siemens analytics product suite. This role requires deep analytical ability, substantial technical writing experience, and the capability to independently research and document complex programming-language behavior in a legally sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning and generating content for our data analytics products, working collaboratively with the technical communications team and engineering SMEs.

  • Researching, writing, and maintaining developer and administration documentation for Rapidminer SLC products.

  • Producing high‑quality, fully original technical documentation describing statistical, mathematical, and programmatic concepts with clarity and precision.

  • Contributing to end-user documentation as required for other Rapidminer products.

  • Reviewing and copy-editing documentation from SMEs to ensure consistency.

  • Working with software developers, customer support and QA teams to update documentation to reflect customer feedback and new features

  • Interpreting syntax-only specifications from developers to derive accurate functional behavior without external reference materials.

  • Collaborating with other team members globally to ensure that deadlines are met

  • Executing long-term documentation projects that require long time periods of sustained analysis and writing.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree (or international graduate of a university level program) in a related field or in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Technical Communication.

  • At least 5 years of related experience in technical communication, instructional design, engineering, computer science, or related field.

  • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Information gathering (such as interviewing engineers, extracting information from source code and specifications, research content and extrapolate from that content).

  • Able to communicate complex information succinctly and clearly.

  • Experience in creating tutorials, training manuals or training guides

  • Exposure to programming principles, programming knowledge or experience

  • Ability to clearly explain degree‑level mathematical and statistical concepts.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to produce documentation without reliance on AI-generated content

  • Experience working on long-duration, complex technical projects.

  • Familiarity with distributed or international teams within a global organization.
