Flutter Mobile Developer

Are you the kind of Flutter developer who wants your work actually used at scale, not just shipped and forgotten?

We’re working with an established technology business who build a suite of mobile applications connecting into their backend platform. One of their biggest customers is Amazon, which means you’re working at a genuinely huge scale of data and usage, even in a role like this.

This position is 100% remote, though you must be UK based

This isn’t a “build one screen and move on” kind of role.

You’ll be:

• Developing and maintaining cross-platform mobile apps in Flutter, for iOS and Android
• Working mostly Flutter-to-API – consuming and helping design REST APIs that connect into the wider platform
• Writing clean, testable code and contributing to code reviews
• Working alongside web and embedded teams to deliver joined-up solutions
• Getting involved in sprint planning and technical scoping, not just picking up tickets

Yes, they want solid Flutter experience.

But more than that, they want:

• Someone who can work independently and make sound calls without needing everything signed off
• A genuine team player – someone who’ll support less experienced colleagues as much as learn from more experienced ones
• Someone who communicates clearly, both with developers and with non-technical stakeholders

This is very much a junior-to-mid level role. Don’t be put off by how the JD reads – in real terms, this comes down to solid, hands-on Flutter experience.

• 2+ years’ professional experience building mobile apps in Flutter, across iOS and Android
• Experience designing, building and consuming REST APIs
• Comfortable with Flutter state management (Bloc or similar)
• Baseline computer science knowledge – think “what is a database index,” not deep CS theory

Most junior-to-mid Flutter roles have you working on something small, internal, or low-stakes.

This one doesn’t.

• Your work runs on real, high-volume infrastructure – not a sandbox
• You’ll work closely with web and embedded teams, picking up a broader view of the platform than a typical mobile-only role gives you
• There’s room to develop technically here, with support from a team that genuinely shares knowledge rather than siloing it
