Seven Logistics is looking for an experienced Transport Operations Manager with strong communication, good customer relationship skills and experience of leading a busy planning team. You will have a wealth of knowledge to help support the day-to-day functions of the traffic office and ensuring our customers receive the best service we can offer

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Planning work from Felixstowe, London Gateway, Whittlesea and Southampton
  • Managing the Transport Planners within the department
  • Overseeing revenue targets and service levels for operational benefits
  • Overseeing drivers relationships alongside our fleet department and ensuring communication and relationships are kept up to high levels
  • Ensure all current day issues are managed and resolved efficiently
  • Oversight of VBS bookings and reducing wasted costs
  • Serve as a reliable first point of contact for operational queries via phone, email, or face-to-face interactions, delivering practical and confident solutions
  • Optimise fleet utilisation and staff performance through effective planning, resource management, and sound operational decision-making
  • Support KPI reporting and daily operational statistics to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies and industry regulations, supporting planning and ongoing adherence to standards
  • Travel to other depot’s may be required on an adhoc basis
Skills and Attributes Required
  • Significant experience of planning trucks
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of leading a planning team
  • A working knowledge of TOPS a strong advantage
  • Leverage your strong UK geographical knowledge to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently
  • Showcase your organisational skills by prioritising tasks and managing a busy workload with ease
  • Demonstrate sharp attention to detail and consistently hit daily deadlines
  • Bring your transport expertise to the table, including solid knowledge of the Working Time Directive and EU driver hours regulations
  • Communicate with confidence and clarity at every level, building strong relationships across the business
  • Ability to maintain a high level of traffic planning under pressure
  • Understanding of port and VBS systems
  • Knowledge of haulage and container industry
  • Attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Good people and team building skills
  • Ability to multi-task
