Transport Operator

James Kemball is seeking a Transport Operator to assist our Southampton branch.

• Effective route planning and operation of container trucks
• Experience working in container transport
• Previous transport experience
• Proficiency in TOPS
• Knowledge of driver’s rules and regulations and WTD
• Ability to communicate at all levels
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent levels of commitment and motivation
• Work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Ability to question, challenge and improve upon existing processes

• Ensuring operator’s licence and driver hours legislation are adhered to
• Dealing with any issues that arise impacting operations, including traffic delays, breakdowns, accidents
• Managing drivers including agency drivers and subcontractors
• Alongside Fleet Department, maintain and action all defects immediately following the correct process and ensure any VOR vehicles are kept off the road until rectified
• Work with customers to meet current and anticipated requirements to achieve service expectations
• Drive high standards and flag opportunities for process improvement
• Ensure constructive relationships with all customers are maintained and developed
• Undertake any duties as may reasonably be required
