Senior Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Southaven, Mississippi. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, and has a strong background in general ledger accounting.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial information is accurate and submitted on time.

- Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and classified.

- Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring compliance with accounting policies and standards.

- Perform detailed account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data and resolve discrepancies.

- Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between internal records and bank statements.

- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.

- Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and provide necessary documentation.

- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

- Provide guidance and support to entry-level accounting staff as needed.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger and financial reporting.

- Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations.

- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.

- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
