The City of Southaven is recruiting for Public works laborers to help maintain City streets, sidewalks, storm sewer drains, and City property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor(s).
Cutting/Mowing grass.
Operation of equipment as required.
Street intersection maintenance.
Repairs streets and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching materials, and concrete.
Repairs storm sewer drains, curbs and clean all as needed.
Installs, removes and replaces damaged street and traffic signs.
Removes significant and/or dangerous debris from City streets.
Assists with snow/ice removal to maintain streets.
Work with consultant Contractors regarding street lights, traffic lights, etc.
Cleans and maintains City vehicles on a routine basis.
Performs limited preventative maintenance on equipment relevant to work responsibilities.
Safety equipment and uniforms provided by City including footwear.
Applicants must be 18 years or older, have a valid driver's license and be able to successfully pass a relative criminal history background check and subsequent pre-employment drug screen.
