The Master Stylist engages guests, consults on hair care needs, recommends products and services, and delivers professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look. The role supports the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager in service sales, productivity, guest service, and compliance.

• Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, hair treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed a sales goal of $1,250 average weekly sales and productivity goals for hair services while delivering exceptional guest service.
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales.
• Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that enhance the guest experience.
• Stay informed about industry trends and product benefits to better serve guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and retail/service recommendations.
• Serve all guests, including walk‑ins, in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail team for a total‑store experience.
• Establish professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for professional development.

• Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and state board guidelines.
• Follow service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Utilize booking systems for guest scheduling and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain store operational standards including cleanliness of salon and sales areas.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets through loss prevention practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous relevant work experience is required.

• Proficiency in salon techniques for cutting, coloring, styling, and other services.
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals.
• Proficiency in selling professional hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.

• Work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Continuous mobility; lifting/moving up to 10 lbs.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.

The pay range for this position is $16.94–$20.20 / hour or services pay per the Company’s Services Compensation Plan. Full‑time positions include paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits; part‑time positions include dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
