Sheridan Maine is working with a well-established accountancy practice in Essex to recruit an experienced Audit Senior. This role offers a great mix of onsite client work, office-based collaboration, and hybrid flexibility, making it ideal for an ambitious auditor looking to develop their career within practice. Key responsibilities of the Audit Senior:
Leading audits from planning through to completion for a varied portfolio of clients. Supervising and supporting junior team members on audit assignments. Preparing and reviewing audit working papers in line with UK auditing standards. Liaising directly with clients to gather information and resolve audit queries. Identifying risk areas and ensuring audits are delivered efficiently and accurately. Preparing draft financial statements and supporting audit files for manager review.

Assisting with the development and training of junior staff. Building strong client relationships and acting as a key point of contact on-site. Supporting managers and partners with ad hoc assignments and technical queries. The successful Audit Senior: ACA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified with strong audit experience in practice. Proven experience working on external audit assignments from planning to completion.

Strong understanding of UK GAAP and auditing standards. Confident in leading small audit teams and supervising junior staff. Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
