Position: Charity Receptionist / Administrative Assistant
Location: Leigh on Sea

The post holder will be the primary point of contact for the charity, balancing front‑desk visitor management with backend office support to maintain a smooth and efficient environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a warm, professional, and confidential welcome to visitors, beneficiaries, donors, and staff.
  • Act as front‑of‑house at the charity head office, greeting visitors, ensuring people sign in and are met by the appropriate staff.
  • Answer telephone enquiries, take and forward messages, and process donations received over the phone.
  • Respond to email queries, handling routine matters and passing more complex queries to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Provide general administrative support to the charity team, including photocopying, scanning, filing, typing, and data entry tasks.
  • Support the charity team with fundraising administration tasks and activities to maintain good relationships with supporters and stakeholders.
  • Assist the voluntary services team with volunteer enquiries, stationery requests, and other administrative functions.
  • Accurately collect, input, and retrieve data relating to charity activities using various database systems.
  • Thank donors for gifts received via online giving, in‑person, website, or telephone donations, and update donor profiles accordingly.
  • Assist colleagues in the charity team with special projects as required.
  • Support office administration policies and procedures.
  • Work flexibly, including out‑of‑hours work and community events, to ensure continuity of service across sites.
