Paediatric Clinical Fellow - ST4+The closing date is 14 January 2026
We are looking to appoint a ST4-ST8 Paediatric Clinical Fellow to join our team of 14 Consultants.
Neptune Children's ward is a general paediatric ward that caters typically from birth to 16 years.
There are 10 side rooms (prioritised for those requiring isolation) and one six bedded bays that cater for those children requiring emergency, elective or high dependency care. There is an additional four bedded nursery with cots.

As an employee of the Trust, you will work in close co-operation with all departments and other medical, professional and managerial colleagues to provide high quality healthcare to the Trust s patients.
Middle grade medical personnel work on a shift system but have a nominated consultant. Wherever possible the timetable aims to provide continuity of middle grade medical staff, although there may be occasions where the On-Take commitment and the junior doctor s requirement lead to alternative arrangements.

Job responsibilitiesPlease refer to attached Job Description but will include:
- The Doctor will be expected to show qualities of leadership but also to know their limitations and call for help and advice appropriately
- Liaise between nurses, other junior doctors, patients, relatives and senior medical staff
- Attend and participate in ward rounds and operating theatre sessions as timetable
- Attend general and specialist out-patient, diagnostic and pre-assessment clinics
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- GMC Registration
- APLS or EPLS
- NLS
- Success in two of the three MRCPH paper at time of application and within the last 7 years
- MRCPH
- NHS Experience at ST1-ST3 level
- 12 months experience of working in Paediatrics which must include 6 months in Neonatology and 6 months in General Paediatrics
- Evidence of achievement of paediatric capabilities commensurate with a trainee who has completed ST2, as defined by the Paediatric RCPH progress+ curriculum, at the time of application
- Demonstratable written English, adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues as assessed by the General Medical Council
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with appropriate interpersonal skills for effective team working
- IT Skills
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
