Paediatric Consultant SI in Cardiology

Job Overview

There is one post for a consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in Cardiology coming up to join the existing team. Applications are invited for one WTE Consultant Paediatrician to join the department. The post will be based primarily in the Paediatric Department at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust with responsibilities across the Trust.

• Provide acute Paediatric emergency and ambulatory care.
• Provide Consultant of the week cover on Paediatrics, Neonates and the Paediatric Assessment unit.
• Take on‑call in both acute Paediatrics and neonatology.
• Conduct outpatient activities to further develop special interest.
• Provide services individually and within teams in the above specialities.

There is an expectation that the post holders will have an interest, or experience, in Cardiology. If the successful candidates do not have the relevant experience, they will be supported to develop this role, which will be included in their job plan.
