About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Learning Support Assistant (with an English Specialism) to join a welcoming and supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Southend, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
Support pupils English development, including reading, writing, phonics, and communication skills
Implement and support EHCP targets under the guidance of teaching staff
Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Support with behaviour management and emotional regulation
Assist with personal care where required (training provided)
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience working in an SEN setting (essential)
Strong knowledge and confidence supporting English / literacy
A patient, calm, and proactive approach
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
