1:1 SEN Teacher - Alternative Provision

Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Leigh-on-Sea
Contract: Full-time (long-term), with potential for permanency

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher to provide 1:1 support for a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a well-established Alternative Provision in the Leigh-on-Sea area. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a learners educational experience by delivering personalised support across all subjects.

About the Role
  • Provide high-quality, individualised teaching to a student with SEN needs
  • Adapt lesson content across a range of subjects to meet the student's learning style and developmental needs
  • Work closely with the wider SEN and pastoral team to ensure consistency in approach and progress tracking
  • Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, individualised teaching to a student with SEN needs
  • Adapt lesson content across a range of subjects to meet the student s learning style and developmental needs
  • Work closely with the wider SEN and pastoral team to ensure consistency in approach and progress tracking
  • Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience supporting students with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or associated needs)
  • Ability to deliver differentiated, student-centred lessons
  • Strong behaviour management and resilience
  • A positive, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
