GSL are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of English to support students in a secondary school setting. This role involves delivering high-quality English lessons and helping students develop strong literacy skills, critical thinking, and a passion for language and literature.

You will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full academic and personal potential.

If you are an experienced teacher, Early Career Teacher (ECT), or a passionate individual with strong subject knowledge and a desire to inspire young people, we would love to hear from you.

You will have opportunities for professional development and will support students in a range of settings, including:

Delivering engaging English lessons across a range of topics
Supporting exam preparation and coursework development
Monitoring and supporting student progress through targeted feedback
Enrichment and extracurricular activities such as clubs, trips, and wider school events
As a Teacher of English, you will play a key role in supporting students’ academic progress and personal development. You will work closely with colleagues and other professionals to deliver high-quality teaching and create a positive learning environment that enables all students to succeed.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons
Inspire students through engaging teaching of literature and language
Prepare students for assessments and examinations
Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and wider school
Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and a love of learning
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
