Overview
A well-established multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing M&E team in Essex.
This is an excellent opportunity to work across a varied project portfolio, with a particular focus on Healthcare and Education. The successful Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer will support projects from concept through to completion, delivering high-quality mechanical building services design.

Day-to-Day
As an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
- Develop mechanical building services designs.
- Attend client and project meetings.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Carry out site visits and inspections.
- Prepare technical reports and specifications.
- Review designs against relevant standards.
- Provide technical input during tender processes.
Responsibilities
The Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer will also be responsible for:
- Supporting projects from concept through to completion.
- Producing detailed designs and technical documentation.
- Liaising with clients and project stakeholders.
- Reviewing tenders and providing recommendations.
- Monitoring project progress and supporting site delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with QA standards and regulations.
Qualifications
The ideal Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer will have:
- Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
- Previous mechanical building services design experience.
- Proficiency with IES, AutoCAD and Revit.
- Knowledge of Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and industry standards.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
