Security Training Manager
Location:
London Southend Airport, Southend‑on‑Sea, England, United Kingdom | Department:

Secure training management to ensure compliant delivery across the airport. Work with trainers to develop and deliver training material in accordance with CAA/DfT procedures and UK SCD Syllabus.
Key Responsibilities- Accountable for monitoring and maintaining the training schedule & matrix of the security team
- Perform regular needs analysis using the training matrix to highlight upcoming renewal requirements
- Develop and maintain the training improvement plan for the team
- Assist with the SEMS process to improve compliance, productivity and customer experience
- Build and maintain relationships with key regulatory bodies such as DfT and CAA
- Continuously monitor and update the CAA/DfT Training syllabus to reflect current regulation
- Develop and deliver initial and recurrent GSS & GSO courses, on‑the‑job training, DNXCT training, computer‑based AVSEC training and GSAT training
- Monitor overall security standards and AVSEC compliance to meet regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with the security management team to monitor the operational environment and make swift decisions to support operational efficiency
- Deliver ad‑hoc training courses as required
- Manage, oversee and develop the covert/overt testing programme in partnership with third parties and CAA
- Conduct internal audits based around the 13 chapters of the SCD(A)
- Review monthly DNXCT requirements and oversee and manage TIP/TIRT data
- Carry out threat assessments in the event of potential security threats
- Respond to operational requirements within security to meet needs, including adjusting training needs where necessary
- Embodiment of the Airports ‘One Team’ culture, including support for business needs beyond core duties
- Shift work covering early mornings, late nights, weekends and bank holidays for 24/7 operations
- Experience leading a team successfully
- Strong communication skills
- Valid Ground Security Supervisor (GSS) and Ground Security Operative (GSO) qualifications
- Qualified ‘Train the Trainer’
- CAA Certified Instructor Number (CIN) and recent experience delivering AVSEC training
- Full UK driving licence
- Valid Security Manager Level 3
- Valid DfT recognition of firearms and explosives (RFX) qualification
