Test Centre Associate

Pay Range £13.60 per hour

Reed in Partnership, a British family‑owned company, delivers public services. We are seeking a Test Centre Associate to support our DVSA driving theory test programme in Southend.

• Invigilate and supervise driving theory tests.
• Check candidates’  and record details in the system.
• Maintain integrity and security of tests in accordance with DVSA standards.
• Explain the test process to candidates and support queries.
• Review test centre schedules and manage daily opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure the centre meets individual candidate needs in line with the Equality Act.
• Handle and report incidents that could impact candidate testing.

Flexible pattern – part‑time or occasional shifts. Possible shift times include:

• Mornings – 8:30am to 1pm/2pm
• Afternoons – 12:30pm/1pm to 5:30pm/6:30pm
• Full day – 8:30am to 5:30pm/6:30pm
• Evenings – 4:30pm/5pm to 8:30pm/9:30pm
• Afternoons & evenings – 12pm/1pm to 8:30pm/9:30pm

The centre operates 4–5 days a week; main days are Monday–Thursday, with occasional Friday or Saturday openings. Candidates must be flexible for nights and weekends as required.

• Full UK driving licence (driving not required for all locations).
• Significant experience providing high‑quality customer service.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask within short timescales.
• Experience working with diverse customer groups.
• Excellent judgement and decision‑making skills.
• Flexibility in working hours and days, including evenings and Saturday.
• Calm, professional demeanor when dealing with confrontational candidates.
