Head of Accounting

Location: Southend-On-Sea

Our Client, a world renowned Hospitality business is looking for an Interim Head of Accounting for an initial 12 month period reporting into the Director of Finance. Responsibilities are as follows:

- Manage and support the Accounting Services team, including five direct reports Conduct regular performance appraisals and reviews to ensure consistently high professional standards across the team Manage the Payroll and Pensions function. Review and authorise the monthly payroll, advise staff on payroll and pension related matters, and prepare and process the monthly payroll journal Compliance and External Reporting Manage the external audit process including preparing the annual statutory accounts and overseeing the preparation of audit files for six "group entities" and the Defined Benefit Pension Scheme, and liaising with the FD and external auditors, as required Ensure timely and accurate submission of statutory and tax reports, including VAT returns;
National Statistics Surveys;
Gift Aid submissions;
Charity Commission returns;
Payment Practice Reporting; and Digital Platform Reporting
