About the Service
An open supported living service located in a pleasant residential area close to Southend-on-Sea town centre and within walking distance of the seafront.
We provide a therapeutic, recovery-focused environment for adults with a mental health diagnosis, including individuals with dual diagnosis and forensic histories. Our aim is to promote independence, empowerment, and rehabilitation through structured support programmes tailored to each individual’s needs.
Staffed 24 hours a day, delivering person-centred support incorporating:
* Recovery-based support planning
* Social and practical skills development
* Positive risk management
* Continuous assessment and review
* Community integration and independent living preparation
Our rehabilitation model typically spans up to two years (longer if required), with a clear focus on moving individuals toward greater autonomy, confidence, and meaningful participation in society.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead and ensure the continued delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
You will be responsible for the operational leadership of the service, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a positive, therapeutic culture that supports both service users and staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Register with and maintain compliance with CQC requirements
* Provide strong, visible leadership to the staff team
* Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and recovery-focused support
* Oversee care planning, risk management, and safeguarding processes
* Monitor and maintain high standards of quality and compliance
* Manage budgets and resources effectively
* Lead recruitment, supervision, and professional development of staff
* Build and maintain positive relationships with external professionals and stakeholders
* Promote a culture of empowerment, dignity, and respect
About You
We are looking for a Registered Manager who:
* Has previous experience managing a mental health or supported living service
* Holds (or is working towards) Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care
* Has strong knowledge of CQC regulations and quality standards
* Demonstrates experience supporting individuals with complex needs, including dual diagnosis and forensic backgrounds
* Is confident in leading teams and driving service improvement
* Is committed to recovery-based, person-centred practice
* Possesses excellent communication and organisational skills
