Position: Part Time Panel Advisor - Fostering & Adoption on-Sea - Sanctuary Personal

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Panel Advisor within the Fostering & Adoption Service to work Part Time (28 Hours) based in Southend.

The salary for this permanent Panel Advisor job is up to £58,959 per annum.

  • Responsibility for management and coordination of Permanency & Fostering Panel including management, training, development & quality assurance of fostering panel chair and panel members.
  • To have lead responsibility for analysis and reporting on Permanency Panel & Permanency Practice focussing on trends and outcomes for children and young people and their carers.
  • To identify, in conjunction with Senior Managers, areas of shortfall and excellence in service delivery and professional practice, and to take the lead in identifying necessary changes to policy and practice.
  • To lead on and establish systems to support direct audit processes and to have lead responsibility for the analysis of aggregated and individual data with recommendations for practice & service development.
  • To lead on the provision of support, training and advice to social work staff and panel chair/members, ensuring high standards are set and maintained in the compilation of permanence plans across Children’s Social Care.
  • To coordinate and attend Permanency Panel, Permanency, Planning Meetings and case tracing meetings advising on the best way to achieve the most appropriate outcomes for children.
  • To have lead responsibility for quality assurance regarding paperwork for presentation to Fostering & Permanency Panel.
  • To ensure that the decisions of the Agency Decision Maker are implemented in a timely fashion in line with Fostering Regs & NMS.
  • Contribute to the training of fostering chair and panel members and giving advice to panels where this is required.
  • To manage the delivery of Fostering Panel and monitor the outcomes for children who have been presented. To ensure effective panel functioning and ensure the quality assurance of the panel records and their distribution.
  • To attend Permanence Planning Meetings for Children in Care and drive the development of permanence plans at the earliest possible stage.
  • To take lead responsibility for developing new strategies and policies to embed effective permanency planning across and lead on the provision of progress reports to Senior Management.
Requirements of this Panel Advisor role:
  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
  • Experience (preferably in a management capacity) of work with children and families or policy development, gained in a Social Services context.
