Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Systemic Family Therapist within the Multi-Disciplinary Service to work Full Time based in Southend.
The salary for this permanent Systemic Family Therapist role is up to £52,413 per annum.
- Provide expert consultation to Social Workers & Team Managers on cases involving complex needs related.
- Support practitioners in identifying and analysing risk factors, protective factors, and underlying issues affecting children and families.
- Offer guidance on trauma-informed approaches, contextual safeguarding, and culturally competent practice.
- Lead or support the development of robust risk assessments, ensuring that risks to children and vulnerable adults are clearly identified, analysed, and addressed.
- Advise on and co-develop safety plans that are practical, proportionate and responsive to the lived experiences of families.
- Ensure that risk management strategies are aligned with statutory guidance, local protocols, and best practice frameworks.
- Deliver highly specialist therapeutic interventions to children and families to reduce risk, build resilience, and promote behavioural or relational change.
- Use evidence-informed tools and techniques tailored to the presenting issues (e.g. motivational interviewing, psycho-education, safety planning).
- Facilitate reflective practice sessions, case consultations, and peer learning to build practitioner confidence and competence.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to social workers and early-help practitioners, particularly in managing high-risk or emotionally complex cases.
- Act as a key liaison between children’s services and specialist agencies (e.g. domestic abuse services, CAMHS, substance misuse teams) to ensure coordinated responses.
- Promote integrated working through joint assessments, shared planning, and collaborative decision-making.
- Represent the service in multi-agency forums, panels, and strategy meetings, advocating for the needs of children & families.
- Contribute to service development initiatives, including policy reviews, pilot programmes, and evaluation activities.
- Share learning and best practice across the organisation to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements of this Systemic Family Therapist Job.
- UKCP registered Family and Systemic Psychotherapist.
- Completion of AFT-accredited qualifying level training.
- Prior professional qualification in a relevant field (e.g. social work, psychology, nursing).
