Maintenance Supervisor

Join the excited team at The Palace Hotel, Southend-on-Sea by IHG! We are looking for a passionate Maintenance Supervisor to join our full‑time, 5‑shift per week schedule.

As the hotel transitions to Garner, we are creating a welcoming, flexible environment and want you to help maintain it. Your role will cover a range of duties and require experience in maintenance and engineering.

• Support the day‑to‑day maintenance and upkeep of the hotel, ensuring guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities are maintained to a high standard.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in managing the maintenance team and keep the team current with training.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks, respond promptly to maintenance requests, and resolve issues efficiently.
• Handle basic repairs across electrical, plumbing, painting and general maintenance disciplines.
• Conduct routine inspections and report any defects, health & safety concerns or maintenance requirements.
• Work independently and as part of a team while maintaining high safety and service standards.

• Experience in maintenance, engineering or trade within a hotel, facilities or property environment.
• Relevant engineering, maintenance or trade qualifications are beneficial but not essential with suitable practical experience.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive hands‑on approach.
