An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to take the next step in their career and join the growing team in Southend. The practice is RCVS accredited and offers a welcoming, well-equipped environment where high clinical standards and a healthy work-life balance are equally valued. The successful candidate will work alongside a very experienced partner, supported by an established team comprising another Veterinary Surgeon, a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse, two Registered Veterinary Nurses, four Client Care Advisors and a Practice Manager.
The team prides itself on creating a friendly and collaborative workplace where everyone is encouraged to contribute and develop. The practice has recently invested in its facilities and now benefits from a brand-new ultrasound machine with four probes, an endoscope, in-house laboratory, digital X-ray and dedicated dental equipment. This provides the successful Veterinary Surgeon with the resources needed to work confidently through a varied small animal caseload.
This role would suit an experienced vet with strong surgical ability who is comfortable managing their own cases and working independently when required. Dentistry experience would be an advantage, although the main priority is someone who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care and is keen to continue expanding their clinical knowledge. Strong communication skills and a genuine ability to build lasting relationships with clients are also important, as is a positive, team-focused approach.
The position is ideally offered on a full-time basis, working 40 hours per week between 9am and 7:30pm, including Saturdays. There are no out-of-hours requirements, supporting a good balance between professional and personal life.
In return, the successful candidate will receive a salary of £60,000-£80,000 depending on experience.
