Quality Inspector - Aerospace
£30,000 - £35,000 | Southend-on-Sea | Monday to Thursday
An established aerospace manufacturing business based in Southend-on-Sea is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join its quality team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong background in aerospace inspection, testing, and product release, working to high industry and customer standards.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring components are inspected, tested, and released in line with the Quality Management System and aerospace regulatory requirements, while supporting manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Role
Inspection of manufactured aerospace components in line with drawings, routings, and quality plans
Carrying out and supporting FAIR / First Article Inspection activities
Use of a wide range of inspection and measurement equipment, including CMM
Managing non-conformances and supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions
Supporting calibration, testing, and approval of inspection equipment
Working closely with manufacturing to maintain quality standards
Supporting audits and compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001
About You
Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within the aerospace sector or a similarly regulated engineering environment
Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
Experience with inspection, testing, FAIR, and quality documentation
Strong working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and aerospace quality standards
Hands-on experience using precision measurement equipment, including CMM
Proactive, detail-focused, and confident working independently

Salary £30,000 - £35,000, depending on experience
