Retail Assistant - Part Time

We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. We offer a permanent part-time position working a variety of shifts, with a minimum of 20 hours worked over 4 days each week, including weekends.

• Pay depends on age: 16-20 £ 10.95 per hour; 21+ £12.81 per hour

• Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello
• Help customers find the items they are looking for
• Provide fast and friendly service at the tills, offer to pack, leave a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye
• Handle stock with care while working deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and onto shelves ready for customers to buy
• Work with the rest of your team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean and tidy

• A friendly, positive, hard‑working approach to work
• Enjoy being busy and able to jump from deliveries to serving on the till, helping customers on the shop floor, and completing cleaning and stock rotation routines
• Reliability; you will be an important part of a small team and colleagues and customers will depend on you to do your best each shift and not let the team down
• Flexibility with shifts; you may need to work slightly different hours to cover for teammates. Rotas are planned three weeks in advance and commitments outside work are taken into consideration when planning shifts
