We are recruiting for a qualified and switched‑on Asbestos Lab Analyst / Administrator in the South East region. The role is within an independent, UKAS accredited outfit that has a growing client portfolio. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills and will be able to manage their own workload to ensure efficiency. Our client can offer support with further training and development within the industry, including into management positions.

Wickford, Basildon, Hockley, South Woodham Ferrers, Burnham-on-Crouch, Canvey Island, Southend‑on‑Sea, Grays, Tilbury, Billiericay, Maldon, Chelmsford, Witham, Braintree, Hornchurch, Romford, Ilford, Barking, Chigwell, Epping, Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford, Sawbridgeworth.

• Proven experience working as an Asbestos Lab Analyst
• Will have worked within an Administrative role
• Must hold the BOHS P401 as a minimum
• It would be beneficial to hold the BOHS P402, but this is not essential
• Good organisational skills
• Strong communication skills
• IT literate

• Undertaking the bulk analysis of samples to confirm the presence and type of asbestos
• Using PLM and stereo‑microscopy analysis methods
• Logging and processing samples
• Issuing analysis certificates to clients
• Answering incoming queries from clients via telephone and email
• Participating in AIMS and quality assurance checks
• Managing a diary for site staff, arranging appointments and contacting clients to check access requirements
• Updating the company’s internal database
• Maintaining the lab equipment and arranging maintenance / servicing as required
• Ordering parts, materials and uniforms for staff
