Location: Southend-On-Sea

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Female Intervention Worker to support women experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage. The role involves providing trauma-informed, strengths-based support through assessment, casework, and progression planning, with the aim of helping women move towards safety, stability, and independence. You will work in a busy, frontline environment, holding a caseload of women facing complex challenges such as rough sleeping, domestic abuse, substance misuse, trauma, and mental ill health.

Key Responsibilities Build trusting, professional relationships with women accessing the service Carry out triage, needs assessments, and risk assessments Manage a caseload and provide 1:1 keywork support Develop and review personalised support and progression plans Respond to safeguarding concerns, crisis situations, and immediate risks Advocate for clients and support access to housing, health, legal, and wellbeing services Liaise with internal teams and external agencies to coordinate holistic support Maintain accurate and timely case notes and records Promote a safe, respectful, and trauma-informed environment Support group sessions, workshops, and drop-in activities where required Essential Requirements Experience working with women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness Strong understanding of trauma, mental health, substance misuse, and safeguarding Experience managing complex caseloads and delivering 1:1 support Ability to remain calm, resilient, and professional in challenging situations Excellent communication, engagement, and boundary-management skills Experience working with external agencies and statutory services Commitment to equality, diversity, and trauma-informed practice
