Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Social Worker within the Prevention Team to work full time based in Southend.

The salary for this permanent Senior Social Worker job is up to £52,413 per annum.

  • Support the Team Manager to provide expert leadership, and professional guidance to a team of Social Workers & Social Care Assessors, encouraging effective teamwork and communication to ensure the team achieve their maximum contribution according to the corporate behaviours and values framework.
  • Take a professional lead when required for Care Act Assessments and statutory reviews, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards safeguarding enquiries and Mental Capacity Act assessment/chairing best interest meetings.
  • Act as exemplar for high-quality social work practice, leading through example in communication style, knowledge, values, and a person-centred approach.
  • To provide regular, proactive, and positive supervision to Social Workers and Social Care Assessors according to Council policy.
  • To promote excellence in social work in the team ensuring that people are adequately safeguarded, and positive outcomes are promoted.
  • Support the team manager to encourage staff to become co-creators of change within the communities they serve and support the transformation of practice towards empowerment, strengths and asset-based community development.
  • Promote critical reflection and active learning to ensure that the work environment is safe, responsive, flexible and emotionally capable.
  • Ensure the delivery of a strengths-based, personalised service that is responsive to the needs of people, families, social and community networks.
  • Work closely with all partners to ensure that there is effective coordination of interdependences including the management of and resolution of risk and other related matters.
  • Support the Team Manager with developing community engagement and cohesion to effectively reduce adults and families who are experiencing isolation, loneliness, marginalisation, and disconnection.
  • Create and support effective relationships with stakeholders who are crucial to creating a better Southend, including General Practitioner GPs, other primary care professionals, hospital staff and community leaders/groups relevant to the community.
  • Support staff to develop their strengths, abilities and support them with their aspirations to ensure they feel valued, inspired and able to take on the complexities of practice.
  • Support the Team Manager to ensure that robust quality & audit processes are firmly embedded within practice.
  • Communicate effectively including accurate written reports, staff meetings, appropriately reporting concerns to senior managers and external stakeholders when required.
Requirements of this Senior Social Worker job:
  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Social Work England registered.
