We are looking for a compassionate, proactive and experienced Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to join our team in Essex. Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)

Monday to Friday Office Requirement: 1 day per week in the office Reporting to: IDVA Service Manager / Senior IDVA Role Type:
Frontline Domestic Abuse Support The role will provide frontline support to victims of domestic abuse, with a particular focus on high-risk cases . You will work closely with clients to assess risk, develop safety plans, provide advocacy and help them access appropriate services.
Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of high-risk domestic abuse cases. Complete risk assessments and develop individual safety plans. Provide practical, emotional and crisis support to victims and their children. Advocate for clients with housing, health, legal, financial and other support services. Work closely with partner agencies and contribute to MARAC meetings. Maintain accurate and confidential case records. Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, data protection and information-sharing procedures.
Empower clients to make informed decisions and regain control of their lives. About You You will ideally have:
Experience working with vulnerable people and managing a caseload. Strong understanding of domestic abuse, safeguarding and risk management. Experience working within a multi-agency environment. Excellent communication, advocacy and negotiation skills. Strong crisis-management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. A compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental approach. Safe Lives IDVA qualification or relevant equivalent experience/qualification, or willingness to undertake the required training.
