Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting an experienced Children's Social Worker to join the Families First Team at Southend-on-Sea City Council on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional with experience across Child Protection, Looked After Children and Assessment & Intervention services who is passionate about helping families overcome challenges and achieve sustainable positive outcomes. The Families First Team focuses on safeguarding children, strengthening family relationships and providing effective support to families experiencing complex circumstances.
You will work directly with children, young people and their families, using relationship-based and strengths-focused practice to identify risks, promote positive change and ensure children's safety and wellbeing remain at the heart of every decision.
Manage a varied caseload involving children and families with complex needs. Undertake Child and Family Assessments, identifying safeguarding concerns, strengths and areas requiring intervention. Develop, implement and review Child in Need and Child Protection plans. Undertake statutory visits and direct work with children, young people and their families. Participate in Child Protection conferences, core groups and multi-agency meetings. Work collaboratively with education, health, police and other partner agencies.
Prepare high-quality assessments, reports and case recordings. Support families to make sustainable changes while ensuring children remain safe. Contribute to legal planning and court-related processes where required.
Recognised Social Work qualification. Current Social Work England registration. Experience across Child Protection (CP), Looked After Children (LAC) and Assessment & Intervention (A&I).
