Job SummaryThe purpose of this role is to support the superintendent to ensure the physical construction of the assigned project is done with a high level of quality, profitability and by meeting or exceeding the construction schedule. This role is responsible for all field activities including project set up, project execution, financial management, and relationship management. The Assistant Superintendent role is one of a leader and team player.
The leadership displayed by this individual is critical to project performance.
- Oversees a single project or multiple smaller projects
- Evaluate craft employee’s performance and identify opportunities for improvement if necessary.
- Perform all duties required by the job superintendent and other project leadership
- Lead and Communicate with Blum Office Staff, Subcontractors and Vendors to assist them in working to the Project
- Become “subject matter experts” in Blum Best Practice sand implementing them as it relates to the scope of work as required
- Represent Blum with Owner(s), Architects, Consultants, Government Authorities, Vendors and Subcontractors in a professional and courteous way.
- Build effective working relationships with clients and the Blum project team members
- Plan effective/accurate schedules for project(s) and manages manpower accordingly for multiple tasks/projects.
- Responsible for enforcing quality, safety and schedule expectations of all contractors working on the jobsite or as required by the superintendent
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience managing commercial projects
