OPEN POSITION LOCATIONS

Southern Pines, NC – Full time Monday‑Friday 7:30 am‑5 pm (Friday 7:30 am‑12 pm)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Receptionist answers calls, greets and checks in patients, completes paperwork, scans insurance cards, enters demographic data into the electronic health record, records referrals, schedules appointments, scans lab results, and works closely with physicians and staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greets and directs all patients within the practice
  • Obtains patient demographic and verifies insurance information at each visit
  • Collects necessary patient information to meet current federal and meaningful use guidelines for electronic medical records
  • Scans pertinent patient information into EMR including authorizations, recent labs delivered by patient, etc.
  • Obtains patient authorization for medical records release (HIPAA compliance)
  • Schedules any necessary appointments after completion of patient visit
  • Monitors and reviews patient schedules for next day office appointments
  • Identifies and resolves minor patient billing complaints
  • Assists in ordering, receiving and stocking of office supplies
  • Maintains cleanliness of waiting room
  • Assists other Medical Receptionists and Medical Secretaries as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma required;
    Associate’s Degree preferred
  • At least one year of relevant experience and/or training
  • EMR experience preferred
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong multi‑tasking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and accept direction on assigned tasks
  • Able to work collectively with administration and staff
