Adventist Health Care Home Health is hiring a Social Worker MSW in our Southern Maryland Territory and Silver Spring Territory. Qualified candidates will be eligible for up to a $2,500 sign‑on bonus! (Current AHC employees not eligible – see additional details below.)
We're seeking an experienced Social Worker MSW who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
As a Social Worker, You Will- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality therapeutic care that is appropriate to the age, diagnoses, developmental state, and mental status of the clients that are assigned to your unit/department.
- Initiate and implement complete, comprehensive psychosocial assessments.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapies to clients and their families.
- Participate in an interdisciplinary treatment team to propose and develop strategies and interventions that promote excellent therapeutic outcomes.
- Assist clients in developing self‑respect, dignity, integrity, and self‑actualization through a multitude of traditional and adjunctive therapeutic services.
- Document services provided and disseminate information/reports to community referral sources and agencies, i.e., DJJ, DSS, HHS, APS, CPS, LCC, etc.
- Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, referral sources, and community resources for aftercare and supportive services to ensure a successful discharge planning process.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to diffuse psychotic and/or behavioral crises to ensure client, unit, and staff safety and stability.
- Assess and intervene in cases of suspected/disclosed child/adult neglect/abuse issues.
- Promote positive patient‑family‑community relations.
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or an equivalent Master’s Degree in a recognized health field.
- Licensed Graduate Social Work Licensure (required).
- One to Three Years of Social Work Experience (preferred); experience in an inpatient setting preferred.
- Knowledge of psychological disorders and abnormal psychology related to adolescents and adults (required).
- Work is primarily sedentary in nature, requiring occasional exertion of up to ten pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Work requires visual acuity to read, prepare, and analyze data, transcriptions, and characters on computer terminal, as well as visual inspection of documents at distances generally close to eyes.
- Worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; conditions are typical of an office setting.
Monday through Friday.
- Current AHC employees are not eligible for a sign‑on bonus if they are transferring from one entity to another, or transferring within their entity. Employees who have terminated their employment with AHC are not eligible for a sign‑on bonus prior to six months of returning if hired for a position offering a sign‑on bonus.
$29.08 - $42.17 per hour.
