Material Handler

The Material Handler position is a full‑time role (Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) that drives and inspects liquefied gas or electric‑powered industrial trucks with lifting devices (forklift forks) to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment, or materials for receiving, factory service, and scrap operations.

• Check assigned forklift at beginning of shift to ensure unit is functional; maneuver forklift as designed.
• Recharge batteries, fill fuel tank, or replace liquefied gas tank as needed.
• Obtain proper documents from supervisor indicating work to be completed.
• Position forks over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or material and transport load to designated area.
• As needed, stretch wrap pallets (possibly with corners), attach inventory tickets to pallets, or label pallet with SKU number, and place pallets into proper location in the warehouse.
• Empty all full scrap containers in assigned areas and dispose of materials using cardboard compactor, open top, and trash compactor.
• Stack or restack product pallets.
• Move all damaged pallets to pallet trailer. Maintain counts and documentation.
• Stage scrap material, load scrap trailers and trucks as needed.
• Stage scrap appliance load and maintain log.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Perform other miscellaneous related duties as required.

• High School Diploma or equivalent with one to three months related experience and/or training.
• Forklift certification.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Previous manufacturing experience desirable.

Physical Demands:
Must continuously stand, use fingers to handle items, regularly reach with hands and arms, occasionally walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
