Accounts Payable Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting a client of ours located in Sterling Heights, MI that is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity offering a hybrid work schedule and an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing organization while expanding your accounting experience.

• Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate payments. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and prior experience working in a high-volume accounts payable environment.

• Process and code vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.

• Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents.

• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH transactions, and wire transfers.

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.

• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships.

• Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.

• Maintain accurate vendor records and supporting documentation.

• Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and accounting teams to resolve payment issues.

• Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.

• 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience preferred.

• Experience processing high-volume invoices.

• Strong understanding of accounts payable procedures and accounting principles.

• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.

• Previous experience in manufacturing, distribution, or corporate accounting environments.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
