Mechanical Project Engineer - Southfield Office

Holland Engineering, Inc. (HEI) is a full-service engineering consulting firm with over 40 years of experience in energy, civil infrastructure, and government markets. We are looking for a mid‑level Project Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering Group.

Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support and design of a range of facility projects for energy clients (calculations, design, specifications, etc.).
  • Supervise and coordinate technicians, designers, and other staff, and interface with clients as required.
  • Complete detailed compliance reviews, quality assurance, and optimization analysis for energy station design.
  • Develop cost estimates and conceptual designs for proposed/existing pipeline and facility projects.
  • Assist in preparation of project scope, proposals, schedules, specifications, deliverables, and the implementation of organizational processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in the design, construction, operation, maintenance, and regulations associated with mechanical systems related to facilities; and mechanical engineering and design experience of energy projects including process‑related design, facility piping, material specification and selection, thermodynamics, pipe‑stress analysis, and hydrotest requirements.
  • Knowledge of CFR 49 Parts 192 and 195, ASME/ANSI B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and various API codes and regulations preferred; ability to acquire knowledge of energy‑related codes and standards is acceptable.
  • Experience modifying AutoCAD/Micro Station drawings; HDD experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with 5–8 years of engineering experience in the energy industry, particularly pipeline‑related facilities.
  • Professional Engineering license preferred but not required (ability to secure a license in Michigan); PMP certification preferred but not required.
