Global EHS Technical Manager Company Overview

Position Summary

The Global EHS Technical Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs across global operations. This role provides strategic direction, technical expertise, and leadership to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and the advancement of a proactive safety culture. The manager will oversee a team of EHS professionals and collaborate with regional and site-level leaders to drive excellence in EHS performance.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Program Development
  • Develop and implement global EHS strategies, policies, and technical standards.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to address systemic EHS risks and drive continuous improvement.
  • Align EHS programs with corporate sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.
Technical Oversight & Compliance
  • Provide expert guidance on regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.).
  • Lead technical reviews of environmental permits, safety audits, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure consistent application of EHS standards across all global sites.
Team Management & Collaboration
  • Lead and mentor the global EHS technical team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with site EHS managers, operations, engineering, and HR to implement programs.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices across regions.
Data Analytics & Reporting
  • Analyze EHS performance metrics and trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop dashboards and reports for executive leadership.
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Training & Communication
  • Develop and deliver technical training programs for EHS professionals and site teams.
  • Communicate EHS expectations and performance across all levels of the organization.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and practices in EHS management.
  • Lead process safety studies (e.g., HAZOPs, hazard reviews) and facility siting assessments.
Minimum Requirements Education

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (Master's preferred).

Experience

Minimum 7-10 years of progressive EHS experience in a global manufacturing or industrial setting.

Proven leadership of cross-regional or global EHS teams.

Experience with regulatory compliance, technical audits, and risk management.

Preferred Certifications
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Proficiency in EHS software systems and data analytics.
  • Ability to lead change and influence across diverse cultures and organizational levels.
  • Strategic thinking with hands‑on execution capability.
Travel Requirements
  • Up to 40% travel when required.
