Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are seeking a skilled Power Electronics Engineer with experience in design and verification (D&V), electrical and mechanical engineering (EME) requirements, power electronics circuit design, and hardware testing. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Buck and Boost converter topologies, high‑voltage power electronics, EMI/EMC considerations, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) testing using Veri Stand.

The candidate will be responsible for translating customer requirements into product specifications, designing and testing power electronics circuits, and validating performance at both the component and system levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Capture and translate Design & Verification (D&V) and EME requirements into detailed product specifications.
  • Conduct Gen4 EME board‑level design and testing of power electronics circuits, including Buck trays, Boost trays, and Supervisory boards, based on customer requirements.
  • Ensure customer‑required features and performance specifications are implemented and validated at both the product and circuit levels.
  • Set up and integrate EME and DCE systems with powertrain inverter systems.
  • Perform system‑level evaluations and prepare comprehensive analysis and validation reports.
  • Conduct worst‑case circuit analysis (WCCA) and evaluate component failure modes using design FMEA (DFMEA).
  • Design, analyze, and test Buck and Boost converter topologies.
  • Evaluate the impact of EMI/EMC on power electronics circuit design and component selection.
  • Perform inductor and filter design, testing, and validation.
  • Conduct hardware testing, troubleshooting, and debugging using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Perform power electronics hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) testing using Veri Stand.
  • Work independently to troubleshoot technical issues, analyze test results, and deliver engineering solutions.
Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong experience in power electronics circuit design, analysis, and testing.
  • Experience with worst‑case circuit analysis and component failure mode analysis.
  • Knowledge of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Hands‑on experience with Buck and Boost converter topologies.
  • Experience working with high‑voltage systems above 800V and high‑current switching devices.
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC principles and their impact on circuit design.
  • Experience with inductor and filter design, testing, and validation.
2. Hands‑On Hardware Testing
  • Practical experience with soldering and electronic hardware debugging.
  • Proficiency in using oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Experience with PXIe systems and interfacing sensors.
  • Familiarity with DCE and EME hardware.
  • Experience working with high‑voltage power supplies and associated test equipment.
3. Software and Simulation Tools
  • Experience with schematic design and PCB design tools.
  • Familiarity with circuit simulation software.
  • Experience with power electronics Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) testing using Veri Stand.
4. Additional Requirements
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage technical tasks effectively.
  • Strong technical documentation and engineering report‑writing skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate combines strong theoretical knowledge of power electronics with practical experience in circuit design, high‑voltage hardware testing, system integration, and performance validation. Experience with Buck/Boost converters, EMI/EMC analysis, and Veri Stand‑based HIL testing is particularly important.
