As an Advanced Tax Planning Specialist, you will work as part of a team with Financial Advisors to develop financial strategies and reduce individual client tax liability. In addition to completing tax analysis and preparing returns you’ll collaborate with other specialists to find opportunities for your clients.
Essential Job Functions- Analyze tax liability
- Prepare tax projections
- Prepare and file tax returns
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and prospective clients
- Develop and maintain client base
- Market and sell appropriate tax plans
- Attend meetings and continuing education sessions
- Take a holistic approach with a team of financial professionals to service higher income and net worth clients
- Comply with all industry rules and regulations
- Represent clients before the IRS and state revenue departments
- All other tasks assigned
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities, stringent deadlines, and multiple clients
- Strong sense of professional and personal accountability
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly motivated and a self-starter
- Strong leadership qualities, work ethic, and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 6+ years of relevant experience preparing and reviewing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts
- Must possess an active Enrolled Agent or Certified Public Accountant license
- Must possess an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- Experience with CCH Axcess Software preferred
