The Executive Director leads the overall strategic direction and operational management of the Private Duty Home Care Agency, a disregarded entity of PACE Southeast Michigan (PACE SEMI). The role oversees all aspects of agency operations, including care delivery, regulatory compliance, financial performance, workforce management, and business development, ensuring the agency operates with excellence, compassion, and integrity while driving sustainable growth and community impact.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Provide executive oversight for all agency operations, ensuring alignment with PACE SEMI’s mission, standards, and compliance expectations.
- Develop and execute strategic and annual operating plans that promote growth, quality, and financial sustainability.
- Oversee agency systems, policies, and workflows to ensure operational excellence.
- Maintain agency licensure, renewals, and state-required reporting as needed.
- Business Development & Growth
- Lead strategic business development initiatives to expand the agency’s private pay client base and market share throughout Southeast Michigan.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with hospitals, physician practices, rehabilitation centers, senior living communities, and other referral sources.
- Develop new service lines based on community needs and market trends.
- Represent the agency in community networks, industry groups, and senior service coalitions.
- Financial Management
- Manage the agency’s annual operating budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and achievement of revenue and margin goals.
- Oversee billing, collections, and reporting systems to maintain financial integrity and transparency.
- Monitor financial performance, margin trends, staffing utilization, and efficiency metrics.
- Workforce Optimization
- Recruit, lead, and inspire a high-performing team that reflects PACE SEMI’s core values and commitment to service excellence.
- Foster a culture of accountability, compassion, teamwork, and professional growth.
- Ensure effective scheduling systems to support continuity of care, fill rate targets, and minimal service interruptions.
- Establish productivity expectations, scheduling workflows, and staffing ratios aligned to demand.
- Quality Assurance & Client Experience
- Ensure delivery of consistent, high-quality, person-centered care that meets or exceeds regulatory and professional standards.
- Oversee quality improvement initiatives and establish systems for continuous feedback, service monitoring, and corrective action.
- Maintain emergency preparedness policies and staff training.
- Vendor, Contract & Partner Oversight
- Manage relationships with contracted service providers, trainers, or overflow staffing agencies.
- Oversee contract execution, performance monitoring, and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure all vendors adhere to agency standards, regulatory requirements, and PACE SEMI expectations.
- Proven leadership experience in private duty home care, home health, senior services, or healthcare operations.
- Strong business development skills, including partnership creation and market expansion.
- In-depth knowledge of Michigan home care regulations, workforce laws, safety requirements, and private pay operational best practices.
- Expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, and operational metrics.
- Ability to lead both strategic initiatives and daily operations in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.
- Strong communication, relationship building, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on mission, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Commitment to dignity, independence, and person-centered service for older adults; demonstrated ability to lead using PACE SEMI’s Ten Principles.
- Demonstrates strong strategic vision and analytical problem-solving skills to drive organizational growth and operational excellence.
- Cultivates collaborative relationships and strategic partnerships with a focus on delivering exceptional care and achieving sustainable success.
- Exhibits empathy, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions, fostering trust and a culture of respect.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, business administration, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of 5–7 years of executive leadership experience in home care, home health, senior services, or healthcare management, with direct responsibility for business development and operations. - Experience with scheduling systems or home care technology preferred.
