Position: Medical Professional, EMT-Basic

Medical Professional, EMT-Basic

Join the Medical Professional, EMT-Basic team at Octapharma Plasma, Inc. We are expanding rapidly and look for individuals passionate about learning, working with people, and supporting donors.

Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility for plasmapheresis and immunizations, conducting evaluations in line with SOPs, FDA, CLIA, and cGMP.
  • Review informed consent forms, explaining procedures, potential adverse events, immunization schedules, and dosage.
  • Perform medical history reviews and health assessments for donors.
  • Use SOPs to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Review donor management system and immunization paperwork for accuracy.
  • Analyze collected data promptly to confirm eligibility and consult with Licensed Physician as needed.
  • Classify donors to appropriate programs.
  • Monitor donor reactions, document them, and take appropriate action.
  • Perform duties for the Hyperimmune Program when applicable.
  • Review all test results in Nexlynk to determine ongoing eligibility.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all records.
  • Counsel donors with abnormal results, defer them per deferral matrix, and refer to appropriate health authorities when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a recognized healthcare program (e.g., Physician, RN, LPN).
  • Certified/licensed as an emergency medical technician (EMT Basic, EMT-Intermediate, or EMT-Advanced/Paramedic).
  • Work within the scope of the professional license defined by the state of employment.
  • One year of experience in hospital, field care, or plasma center preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Maintain a current valid license and pass medical credential evaluation.
  • Successfully complete an OPI‑approved training program and competency assessments.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.
