Billing Specialist II (Experienced) Full Time/Michigan Residents Only
This position is located at our corporate office in Southfield, MI and has a hybrid schedule of Monday–Thursday in office and Friday remote.
What You’ll DoThe Billing Specialist’s primary role is to review and correct claims with insurance/patient/dental coding errors for submission to the payer for adjudication. This person should be detail‑oriented and have the ability to communicate effectively with both operation team members, as well as insurance companies. While it is important to work well with their team, it is equally important to be self‑motivated.
What You’ll Bring To The Team- Ability and self‑confidence to communicate effectively, and tactfully, to both large insurance company representatives and individual operations team members
- Resolving high volumes of claims for processing by payers
- Review and correct Verification Errors (VEs), payer Rejections, and Not Submitted claims.
- Verify insurance eligibility and update patient, subscriber, and provider information.
- Correct coding or data discrepancies to ensure clean claim submission.
- Resubmit corrected claims and document all actions taken.
- Communicate with offices or internal teams to obtain missing information.
- Maintain accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail in all claim processing tasks.
- Other tasks as requested by direct manager
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in claim attachments and dental knowledge preferred
- Analytical and problem solving skills with a passion for detail & accuracy
- Reliability and flexibility with time committed to the position
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- 1+ years Dental Front Desk, Medical/Dental Claims
- High volume, fast‑paced office experience a plus
- Proficiency in medical/dental insurance verification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and claim clearinghouse programs
- Ability to analyze claim issues and resolve errors independently
