thyssenkrupp Materials NA, Inc. is hiring a Recruiting Coordinator for a hybrid role based in Southfield, MI (3 days onsite). This newly created position supports the tkMNA Talent Acquisition team across the recruiting lifecycle, with hands-on coordination, reporting, and candidate experience work. You will have growth potential and high visibility through close partnership with recruiters, hiring managers, HR, IT, and other stakeholders.

What

you’ll do
  • Source and identify qualified candidates through multiple channels.
  • Review resumes, assist with shortlisting, and coordinate next steps for open positions.
  • Conduct initial phone screenings using standardized interview guides.
  • Maintain ongoing candidate engagement through the hiring process, including initiating first contact and managing communications.
  • Manage candidate pipelines and ensure accurate status updates in Workday
    .
  • Verify and track candidate sourcing information during onboarding.
  • Schedule interviews by coordinating calendars between candidates and hiring teams, and send confirmations and follow-up communications.
  • Partner with hiring managers to collect interview feedback and keep processes moving efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and recruiting documentation, supporting smooth and professional candidate experiences.
  • Create and submit requisition requests within Workday.
  • Assist with temporary-to-permanent employee conversions.
  • Support drug screen and background check processes, including coordination and tracking.
  • Help keep recruiting workflows organized, compliant, and efficient while supporting onboarding milestones and Workday activities.
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, and hiring managers to help ensure new hires are ready on day one, including equipment requests and onboarding logistics.
  • Assist with welcome gifts to help create a positive new hire experience.
  • Post and promote open positions across job boards, social media channels, company pages, and state employment websites.
  • Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to increase visibility and candidate engagement.
  • Research competitor hiring activity and market trends to inform recruiting effectiveness.
  • Support innovative sourcing strategies to attract top talent.
  • Generate recruitment metrics and hiring status reports, including weekly open requisition reporting and identification of aging positions.
  • Support vendor and agency management by maintaining recruiting partner information and contracts.
  • Help coordinate career fairs, recruiting events, and open houses, including support for university recruiting initiatives and internship programs.
  • Build relationships with vocational schools and community organizations to strengthen talent pipelines.
  • Research industry associations and networking groups to expand outreach efforts.
  • Deliver insights that help drive hiring decisions and recruiting effectiveness.
What you’ll bring
  • Minimum 2 years of recruiting, talent acquisition, or HR support experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience working within an Applicant Tracking System (
    Workday preferred
    ).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience sourcing candidates through job boards and social media platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
    .

Compensation and benefits

Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 per year.
