The primary role of the Account Manager is to handle the day-to-day Client Service requirements on an assigned book of business. This book of business could have a Producer or Account Executive who has overall responsibility for Service, Placement, and Business Development.

The AM should have a deep understanding of coverage and insurance programs, spending significant time on system activity and communication with the client via email, phone, or in person. They are accountable to adhere to corporate initiatives, processes, and procedures, including system of record data integrity.

The AM is a key member of the client team and provides direction to any third‑party vendors responsible for the account.

Impact
  • Participates in renewal strategy, including discussion of markets to approach, claims reviews, and exposure gathering.
  • Manages a renewal book of business, including submissions, marketing, proposals, and binding.
  • Provides support in drafting exposure gathering information, loss exhibits, submissions, and proposals.
  • Obtains loss run or policy documentation directly from a carrier website as needed.
Day-to-Day Client Service
  • Primary recipient of daily questions or changes from the client or forwarded by the Producer/AE.
  • Works with Associate Account Manager or third‑party vendor to issue certificates, invoices, and policy/endorsement/audit checking.
  • Submits and manages changes to the carrier per the client’s request.
  • Updates the system of record to properly reflect conversations, communications, and policy documentation.
  • Processes monthly, quarterly, or annual audits and monthly reports as received.
  • Handles contract reviews that are not complex in nature.
  • Manages claims, instructing the client to report notice of loss directly to the carrier or providing claims reporting and support for ongoing large claims.
Candidate Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a Property & Casualty brokerage environment.
  • Hold Insurance licenses.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Property & Casualty business.
  • Understanding of agency processes and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of Agency Management systems.
  • Knowledge of loss‑sensitive, alternative risk transfer, and self‑insured retentions programs.
