Key Responsibilities- Implement revenue and engagement plans that drive new levels of performance and year‑over‑year growth in the chapter.
- Achieve personal event revenue goals and support overall event and chapter revenue and engagement goals.
- Secure and retain table hosts, guests, and event sponsors, and oversee all aspects of auction procurement.
- Implement annual strategies in collaboration with chapter partners to drive donor engagement and stewardship at the event level.
- Implement stewardship strategies for all event supporters, ensuring timely and consistent execution throughout the year.
- Deploy tactics and strategies within the event portfolio that drive foundation and pipeline building activities to support long‑term success.
- Implement strategies to retain, acquire, and activate supporters in events to meet fundraising and participation goals.
- Ensure meaningful engagement of volunteers at all levels and maintain good working relationships with key volunteer partners.
- Partner with volunteer leadership to solicit funding and other support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other sources.
- Support and maintain the vision, mission, and priorities of Breakthrough T1D.
- Demonstrate an educated and enthusiastic understanding of Breakthrough T1D’s mission and research therapeutics.
- Promote mission engagement opportunities throughout the community in research, advocacy, community engagement, and clinical trials.
- Represent Breakthrough T1D with professionalism, integrity, and personal example.
- Maintain departmental and organization‑wide policies and procedures.
- Develop expertise in fundraising management platforms, as appropriate.
- Support event logistics to ensure successful and smooth event experiences for volunteers and participants.
- 2+ years of fundraising experience with a record of achievement in a complex, mission‑driven organization and revenue responsibilities above $250k; experience with large‑scale events (walk, gala, etc.) and stewardship of donors.
- Experience partnering with active volunteers and a large network of passionate volunteers.
- High degree of energy, integrity, courage, empathy, and creativity; team player who supports the chapter team.
- Ability to manage event details, timelines, and efficient time management; meet deadlines under pressure.
- Enthusiastic spokesperson/representative of Breakthrough T1D’s mission; clear communicator who inspires others to engage and support the mission.
- College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Local travel required; evening and weekend work as needed.
