We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Teacher Sub for all Head Start Sites to join our team of talented professionals.

As an Assistant Teacher Sub you will be responsible for planning and implementing a program of educational activities for preschool children that encourages age appropriate growth and development in a variety of areas. Regular working hours will vary based on the need of the program.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement a program of educational activities for preschool children that promotes age-appropriate growth and development across multiple domains.
Qualifications
  • An Associate Degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, an Associate Degree in a related field with 12 credit hours in Early Childhood Education, a Preschool Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) or a state certificate that meets or exceeds CDA requirements, and enrollment in a program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree, or enrollment in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of hire.
  • Knowledge and understanding of early childhood development and the ability to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum practices.
  • Previous experience working with preschool children in a classroom setting.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds unassisted to assist children during emergencies.
  • Nonjudgmental approach with cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse students, families, and partners.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations; ability to stand for extended periods and move between seated and standing positions as required by class sessions; ability to bend, stoop, and address child needs during activities.
