Position:
Therapist in the Children’s Outpatient Program (Full‑time). Compensation varies with experience; includes a comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, long‑term disability, 401(k) with employer match, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, 11 paid holidays, license supervision, and biweekly incentive eligibility.
- Conduct intake assessments and complete all necessary opening paperwork.
- Gather and integrate information from client self‑reports, family, guardians, probation officers, medical records, and treatment history.
- Assist in developing person‑centered treatment plans with a team, using Integrated Biopsychosocial assessment and other clinical assessments.
- Provide face‑to‑face clinical interventions in office to each assigned consumer at least monthly.
- Offer individual, family, and group therapy.
- Conduct crisis planning with client.
- Deliver parent education, coaching, and training.
- Refer for additional services and community resources as needed.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, Wraparound facilitators, school personnel, and other support staff.
- Advocate for child and family needs to achieve self‑sufficiency.
- Assess client satisfaction and participate in program evaluation.
- Attend clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations.
- Complete clinical records and agency documentation timely, per Guidance Center policy.
- Assist with unit and agency issues and student supervision.
- Follow Guidance Center’s professional code of ethics.
- Represent the organization professionally in the community.
- Establish a schedule with supervisor; provide at least 4 hours/week after 5:00 PM; full‑time staff must sheeg 23 hours/week.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree or higher; psychologist (TLLP, LLP, LP), licensed master’s social worker (LMSW, LLMSW) under supervision, or licensed professional counselor (LPC, LLPC), all currently licensed in Michigan.
- Full license (LMSW, LP, LPC) preferred; if not, must obtain state licensure within 60 days of hire (possible Projects) 60‑day extension at employer discretion). Failure to license within this period disqualifies; licensure must remain active and disciplinary‑clean thereafter.
- Must meet Michigan Department of Community Health requirements for a Child Mental Health Professional within 120 days of hire.
- Acceptable MDHHS Central Registry and criminal background check clearance.
- One year of experience in examination, evaluation and treatment of minors and families.
- Preference for electronic gram medical record experience; computer literacy (email, word processing, Excel, databases).
- Cultural competency, ability to work with diverse populations, psychotherapy relationship skills with children and families, collaborative skills, effective communication, and flexibility.
