Base pay range

$32,600.00/yr - $40,000.00/yr

Summary

Infant/Toddler teachers supervise up to 8 children ages 6 weeks to 36 months with an assistant teacher. Preschool teachers supervise up to 20 children ages 3 to 5 years.

Responsibilities
  • Using positive discipline techniques to support independence, self‑regulation, and social skills
  • Supporting children in developing self‑help skills
  • Record keeping
  • Communicating with families
  • Maintaining confidentiality
  • Maintaining conduct and professionalism
  • Maintaining a safe, learning environment
  • Creating a curriculum that supports children's growth and development in alignment with the CTELDS
  • Assessing children's growth and development in alignment with the CTDOTS
  • Maintaining required certifications – CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, Background checks, CT Charts‑A‑Course Registry, current statement of good health, Covid vaccinated
  • Demonstrating reliability and punctuality
Requirements
  • Teachers must be at least 18 years old with at least 12 ECE credits
  • Teachers working in a NAEYC Accredited center must also have earned a BA/BS in ECE, Child Study, Child Development, or a related field
  • Evidence of experience working with young children, preferably 3 references
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to SMILE:

Employees working 35‑40 hours/week are considered full‑time after completing a 90‑day work test period. Full‑time employees are eligible for the above benefits.
