Overview
Analyze, plan and prepare production schedules for manufactured products within the production facility to meet customer demand. Create and maintain line/capacity analysis and daily production line schedules. Implement continuous improvement projects to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Draw up production schedules to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts and/or customer orders.
- Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to determine the balance between plant output commitments and available capacity/headcount.
- Gather performance data and assess performance according to production schedules. Monitor manufacturing output/performance on a daily basis to ensure schedule adherence, challenging and understanding when performance differs from the plan.
- Review schedule daily to adjust for changes in customer requirements, delays in raw material delivery, and availability of production equipment and staffing.
- Review system for supply/demand changes/spikes and adjust plans as needed.
- Prepare and present reports that evaluate plant capacity and identify areas where improvements can be implemented. Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis to facilitate decision making.
- Participate in planning meetings, clearly communicating production schedule, priorities, and backorders. Work with upstream planning teams to prioritize production when capacity or part constraints exist.
- Plan, schedule and communicate production according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
- Expedite and alter production schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Assist in the root cause analysis for work order problems and issues with production.
- Supports department team members to deliver mutually successful programs and initiatives.
- Communicate and correlate with other departments as necessary to support production and inventory goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Injection molding expertise is required.
- Knowledge of buying/purchasing desired.
- Ability to interpret data pertinent to all facets of production and provide cohesive analysis of the factors impacting the facility.
- Must have experience with ERP systems;
Oracle strongly preferred. - Proficiency in MS Office products such as Excel, Word and Outlook. Advanced Excel skills required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills to communicate with all levels within the organization.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a relevant supply chain role.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects of up to 25 pounds.
- Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
