The Staff Accountant will work independently, as well as collaboratively, as part of the accounting team, providing accounting oversight on approximately 80 special purpose entities.

Essential Functions

• Provide accounting oversight on approximately 80 special purpose entities (SPE's)
• Responsible for maintaining all investor-related information in the company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
• Prepare and post journal entries; maintain accurate SPE books and records in the general ledger
• Coordinate the preparation, review, and communication of distributions
• Responsible for compliance with partnership agreements
• Prepare annual financial statements and work with the Tax Department/providers to meet reporting deadlines
• Collaborate with the Investments Department to ensure smooth funds flow and closing process for new investments
• Assist with preparation of revenue and commission calculations upon closing of new transactions
• Assist with accounting related client inquiries
• Communicate and present financial results and various analytical reports to management; perform additional special projects for management

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• One to two years of professional accounting experience, preferably in accounting of private equity funds, investment company accounting, or real estate accounting is a plus but not required
• CPA is a plus but not required
• Ability to learn on-the-job quickly and perform tasks with little supervision
• Ability to quickly adapt to changes in processes and procedures in a rapidly changing environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office products, including an advanced understanding of Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Superior problem solving, judgment and decision-making skills
• Ability to think independently, prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
• Must have the ability to self-direct work and exercise independent judgment to formulate and implement solutions
